I'm a contemporary dance choreographer and teacher based in Bath.  I create accessible contemporary dance performances inspired by science and heritage under my company 'Emily Brown Dance'. 

I've created two full length works for Emily Brown Dance in 2017 and 2019. 

My first work Lina premiered in Bath in March 2017, and toured in 2017-2018 in UK theatres and as a site-specific show at the Herschel Museum, Bath. The creation and tour was generously supported by the Herschel Society, Bath Dance and a public Crowdfund camapign.

Treasure (2019) was funded by Arts Council England in 2019 and 2020, and toured UK theatres and outdoor venues from 2019-2021.

I'm passionate about dance performance being collaborative and inclusive at all levels; in particular, I've worked for many years with older dancers through working with Yama Dance Company. I hugely value the boldness and wealth of experience they bring to every movement. 

I studied at the University of Chester, then completed an MA in dance performance in 2012 at the University of Chichester. As part of mapdance company I performed work by Nigel Charnock, Saju Hari, Matteo Fargion and Detta Howe.
